Centre holds international conferences and seminars in the field of intellectual property.

In 1996 First International Seminar for scientists from 12 former USSR countries "Patent and Copyright System for Scientists and Scientific Research Institution: Practical problems" was carried out by World Intellectual Property Organisation, National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine and International Association of the Academy of Sciences. Specialists of the Centre provided organisation of the Seminar. At the seminar and next years seminars took part more then 200 academics, patent specialists, government officials from former USSR countries, IPR experts from Western European countries, US, WIPO, EPO.

In 1997, 1998, 2000 and 2003 Second, Third, Fourth and Fifth International Seminars took place on the

"Problems of marketing of intellectual property and patent information"

"Licensing and intellectual property valuation",

"International technology transfer – legal mechanisms and practice"

"Promotion of inventive and innovation activities".

Since 2006 Centre holds international conferences on current state-of-art of intellectual property protection in Ukraine and directions of approximation of the legislation to the European Union standards.

In 2009-2011 a number of international conferences and seminars was organised with the EuroAid project “Enhance Innovation Strategies, Policies and Regulation in Ukraine”

Оn October 10-11, 2013 International Conference on the Grace Period and Topical Issues of Intellectual Property took place in Kiev. The conference was jointly organized by the European Federation of Academies of Sciences and Humanities (ALLEA), National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine with support of the Max Planck Society for the Advancement of Science and the Professor Schindler Foundation initiated by ALLEA Standing Committee on IPRs, chair Prof. Joseph Straus.

The Centre was the local organizer of the conference.

The first day session of the conference “Towards the Grace Period in European and International Patent Law” was entirely focused on the issue of the "grace period" in patent law, the grace period application experience in foreign countries, and harmonization of Grace period legislation.

During the second day session “Topical issues of intellectual property protection and commercialization” presentations took place on topical issues of protection and commercialization of IPR results created in research organizations and universities.
